V3: The Vampire Vignettes Revamped

This is no ordinary book of the undead...nor is it your same old, tired vampire tales. "V3: The Vampire Vignettes Revamped" contains tales that stand alone and, at the same time, entertwine with each other. The situations in the everyday lives of G.L. Giles' vampires are not totally unlike the ones you and I have on a regular basis - but the dark twists (and trysts) of these characters make you realize you're just a fraction away of being a vampire yourself. As you read along, imagining you're the one in these "seemingly normal" situations, the supernatural aspect rears it's caliginous head and you think, "My god, what the heck am I....uh...IS HE/SHE DOING??" Yes, it's THAT engrossing. Sex among vampires? Oh jeez, you betcha...and one of the things that heightened my excitement for our dusky peek into vampire sex life is the fact that these erotic tales of vamps, vampyresses, vampirines were all concocted by Giles, a beauty herself. A sweet sidenote to "V3" is that you needn't read Giles' first two vampire editions ("The Vampire Vignettes" and "V2:B4 - The Vampire Vignettes Prequel") to enjoy this book - in fact, reading "V3" first will steer you to the others without confusion. Furthermore, various artists contribute their work throughout the book; as a nice surprise, the text highlights the illustrations just as much as the illustrations highlight the text. So, heed my advice: follow Vladina and the rest of the South Carolinian incubi and lose yourself in the stygian glory that is "V3."

Written in a colloquial style that draws the reader in, V3: The Vampire Vignettes Revamped is a treat for anyone who is interested in the vampire culture. G.L. Giles, the author, is a master of description, showing the reader an intimate view of Charleston through the eyes of characters that seem amazingly real. Giles skillfully explores the seedier side of Charleston with gentleness and understanding while refusing to flinch from the violence and drug abuse that play a role in the story.
