I love the stuff about the pre-spanish era

I read this book many years ago, but I still come back to this novel occasionally. F. Sionil Jose is an excellent storyteller. The "journey" of Salvador dela Raza (savior of the race) through history is an allegory of the people's global movement through history. Reading this book made me more aware of my own ancestry and of the significance of Filipinos internationally.
