Laurie Berkner is a rock star for kids, and "Victor Vito" is her anthem! Packaged with a CD single of the huge hit song, this book begins when Victor Vito and Freddie Vasco leave their failed Klondike... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I am a mother of 1 1/2 year old twins who love to watch Noggin. Noggin plays Laurie Berkner's videos during breaks and my girls love her. When I found this book I was so excited. The girls love to hear it over and over again. They also love to hear the 2 songs included on the cd. I am also a 1st grade teacher and I plan to read this story to my students. The story is full of adventure and great illustrations. Having the children make connections between music and literature is very important. This is a must have book!
Love it!

My 3.5 year old daughter LOVES Laurie. Her music, and now her book. She is always asking me to read it. She loves putting the lyrics of one of her favorite songs to the pictures in the book. Its a great tool in showing kids that reading is fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very creative spin on the song!

My daughter and I both love this song. We saw Laurie, Brian and Susie in concert, and pregnant and all she was excellent, jumping around, dancing, it was very entertaining. We were able to meet with them at the end of the show, and that is where I purchased this book. I think it was a very creative spin on the song. There aren't many words, its just the lyrics, but you can talk about the pictures. It's just very fun for the children to see the song come alive in art. It gives a face to Victor Vito and Freddie Vasco. There is also a CD included with the title track, and another track Buzz Buzz. Another cute fun song from Laurie. I am so glad Noggin started playing her, we really enjoy listening to her.

The illustrations by Henry Cole are adorably funny and fabulous. We've enjoyed his work in many other books, especially the ones where he has collaborated withPamela Duncan Edwards and Margie Palatini. While this story of Victor and Vito is a bit slight, the energy Cole puts into the artwork adds immensely to the characters and storyline.
