Violette Szabo's photo was hanging on the wall of a B & B I stayed at in Normandie. I asked who she was and was told she was a local who was in the French Underground. Sadly, she did not survive her mission. This story, pieced together by her daughter, is a wonderful testament to her bravery and what she did during the Occupation. I'd like to put together a compendium on women of the French Resisance some day. Violette Szabo would definitely be in it.
