Vital Word Studies in the Epistle of James: Verse-By-Verse, Exegetical Format

By: John Lineberry

The epistle of James was written by James, the half-brother of the Lord Jesus. The epistle is an integral portion of the inspired Word of God.

The epistle focuses on the practical aspects of Christian conduct. It tells how faith works in everyday life. The epistle challenges a Christian to "Let his light shine before men" in his daily walk with the Lord (Mat. 5:16).

Vital Word Studies in the Epistle of James deals with the original Greek text in such a way that the English reader will delight in seeing his heart and soul are built up in the faith by this exposition. Words of each verse are explained, and a translation is given to throw light on each verse.

Concerned with the practical aspects of Christian conduct, this enlightening read demonstrates how faith works in everyday life. James' purpose was to provide concrete, ethical instruction so his readers might have victory in living out their inward faith to the glory of God.
