This book is a beautiful trip back in time to know Hawai'i as it was before tourism & commercialism overran the magical strip of beach known as Waikiki. Don Ho's comments alone should make you step back and think "what have we done to this magnificent bit of paradise". The old beach boys/musicians, Ho and Arthur Lyman, conjure up images of silky starlit nights, soft relaxing music, gentle shimmering waves, pungent plumeria blossoms, and nani Hawai'i. Aloha 'oe beautiful island. Well worth the read.

If you are lucky enough to find this book then this is a must have for all of you Hawaii lovers. The artwork on the dustjacket is very quaint; a Hawaiian girl with a lei in her hand bidding aloha. This is one great little book with tons of photographs and a history of Waikiki. Everything related to the building and the now popularity of Waikiki is in this book. This book has 125 pages. It is a book that will get looked at and read over and over again. As one who loves and travels to Hawaii quite often I found this book to be abundant with information about the beautiful Waikiki.
