Johnny Henderson spent four years during the Second World War as aide-de-camp to one of Britain's most famous soldiers of the twentieth century, General Bernard Montgomery - or 'Monty' as he was... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I found it hard to put down this book. The passages written in this book based on the recollections of Johnny Henderson give such a vivid and both entertaining insight to a General who was popular with his men and the people back home. This book would also make a wonderful gift to any ex soldier that may have served under him. It is a shame that his exploits in the war were marred by what happend at Arnhem and how his role in the Battle of the Bulge has been by enlarge played down for both political reasons and the way Hollywood portrays the Second World War.
