Waypoint missions are the optimal method for Survey Mapping. I have also found that the Waypoint mission works the best because you can control where the flight lines are and have full control of the camera settings. There is a little more effort needed in the planning phase, however the rewards of having full control of the flight is priceless. I have spent years perfecting the process to find the optimal solution from flight planning, to flying the mission, processing the data to the final deliverables to the client.
