Father Lukefahr examines various elements of prayer as well as attitudes and misconceptions many Catholics have about prayer. The book takes a brief look at prayer in both Old and New Testament times, how Jesus prayed, and prayer that is uniquely Catholic. It also discusses current trends and ways of practicing prayer that are developing in the Church and in small faith communities. The text follows the outline on prayer found in the fourth section of the Catechism of the Catholic Church . Paperback Available for the Amazon Kindle:
This is another gem from the pen of Fr Oscar Lukefahr, CM. His 30 plus years of teaching experience just cannot be beaten. Yet his books do not contain complex theology but a spirit led humble experience of the Divine. This and all other books by Fr Oscar Lukefahr have shaped my faith over the years. His writing flows from his deep faith and his love for Christ and His Church. I've used ideas from this book 'We Pray' to teach confirmation students. Though I recommend all of his books, I specifically mention 'Search for Happiness' and 'A Catholic guide to the Bible'.
