The New York Times bestselling author of The Red Hat Club fearlessly takes on mothers and daughters, wedding madness, and midlife passion in this frank, funny, and fabulous new novel.Georgia, Linda, Diane, Teeny, and Pru have been best friends since high school, and never have they needed one another more. Georgia's precious twenty-eight-year-old daughter, Callie, has gone and gotten engaged. Usually this would be cause for celebration. After all, this is the South, where dreams of white dresses and wedding bells are as important as finding the perfect hat. But Callie's intended groom just happens to be a man they went to high school and college with: Wild Man Wade! These women know more about the groom than the bride does. His drunken shenanigans. His wild oats. And all of his conquests as well as his mistakes. They can imagine him in the most inappropriate of circumstances, but not as a son-in-law!With absolutely hilarious Southern observances and dead-on wit about mothers, daughters, marriage, and families, Wedding Belles will have you laughing and crying whether you live above or below the Mason-Dixon line.
I bought this book to read during summer vacation in Charleston, SC. It was so hard to put down that I finished the book within a few days! The book definitely kept me guessing as to what with happen with Callie and Wade or Callie and her mother. The women's friendships are also priceless, and anyone with a group of close girl friends will be able to identify with it. I've read the book numerous times since I first finished it, and still enjoy it every single time.
If You Are The Mother of a Daughter This is a MUST READ

I am the mother of a 34 year old daughter. For the first time in our relationship I felt the same feelings and encountered the same emotions from my daughter this year. I can NOT tell you how comforting it was that "someone" else had had the same experience and felt the same sick disheartening feelings as I did. Having it end as it did gave me new insight into the workings of the heart. Georgia really helped me deal with the lingering feelings I have. LMW Connecticut

"Wedding Belles" is the 5th book I've read in this series. It's one of the best - will make you laugh AND cry. I love these "Red Hat" ladies.
Wonderful Story Of Southern Women
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
Absolutely true picture of southern women and their beliefs. If you have ever lived in the south you know the truth. If you haven't read the book. This is the way they believe and behave in the south. It is after all the Bible Belt. I laughed out loud in many spots but I also cried when Elena's letters were read. If you have read the two lead up novels this is a perfect step in the series. If you haven't read the Red Hat books this book can stand on it's own. It is about a mother's love and trying to protect her only daughter from heartbreak and the consequences of doing that! An excellent book.
