Building on these strengths, Coffin and Stacey have delivered a new, carefully revised edition that draws upon their own practical teaching experience while integrating new and emerging research in the field. In addition, the Sixteenth Edition includes new "Transformations" sections that ask students to reflect on major turning points in history (such as the Black Death or the emergence of the Abolition movement). Also new to this edition are document questions that help students make connections between primary and secondary materials.
The text was sent immediately after I placed the order and I received it within a few days (I believe 3 or 4 days). The packaging design protected the textbook quite well so it is a huge plus to order your text through them. The price for a new version a text is only slightly more expensive, but definitely worth it. Overall, I highly recommend them.
It does the job!

I ordered this book for my Western Civ class because it was much cheaper than the college's bookstore price. Although, the book did have unknown coffee or tea stains within the binding and on a few pages, the book was in good condition. Stains and all, the book does the job!

Not The Best, But Not Bad Either

This defintly isn't the best history book I've ever had, but neither is it the worst. The reading is pretty average, it doesn't have at least this history buff eager for the next page. But it does present information in a clear concise manner, and asks plenty of questions that gives you a good idea of what the authors think are important. Even though this book is the first half of western history (it goes to about 1700), it seemed to only delve into women as the only demographic that needed special mention outside of the normal flow of text, there didn't seem to be any additional in depth information about how Africans, the natives of the "New World," or Asians contributed to Western Civilization.
great

Very useful and full of lots of information. It will meet the needs of this class as well as my future classes.
