Number 1 resource in my writing classroom

I have used this book for years, starting with the previous addition. It is honestly the MOST USED resource in my 9-12 writing classroom (and I have an extensive library). I've also used it in a variety of workshops with fellow teachers. As a creative writer it has been a valuable resource for me as well. The most popular section for my classes (and myself) is the "Description" section. I've built an entire assignment around this section. Each student writes about a suggested person, place, and situation. Then they have to collaborate with a partner to create one short story combining all of their descriptions. It's easily the favorite writing assignment for my high school (and adult) students.
