Grady Cohen gives a thoughtful account of the schism in Southern Baptist Convention during the 1980's. His viewpoint is from the moderate side, but I'm appreciative his effort in pulling together an account of the issues. The scope of this work is primarily limited to his experience and to Baptist press coverage during the years of controversy within the Baptist convention. I found his description of the machinations of a major church body to be helpful in my understanding of intra-denominational issues in other denominations.
