Although I wrote this book last year, I still use it as a reference book to look up definitions, check drug dosages or normal blood test values. Take a peek at Chapter 15 on Coping. This was inspired by surgery patients like you. These experts showed me why a positive attitude is necessary during this stressful event. Why not draw from their experiences rather than learn the hard way?

As a surgeon, I recommend that all my patients just flip through it. The graphs, sidebars, and tables list and define normal laboratory and other test results. It explains anesthesia and other medications, as well as mapping what happens from admission to OR. This book has prevented many post-op complications. The medical dictionary in the back is worth the price, alone. My patients seem more motivated to heal because of this book.
