great beginning for a new series

When You Are Near is the first in Tracie Peterson's Brookstone Brides series and I can't wait for the rest of the series. I have not read much of Peterson's work in the past but her name would always catch my eye and I'd think, I have to get that book and read it. After reading this one I realize I have a lot of catching up to do! When You Are Near is a book that touches on real-life difficulties. The characters struggle with feelings of fear and guilt that readers can easily relate to. I like how the author helps each of them work through those struggles with the help of family, friends and their faith. The author gives lots of background regarding the travels, trials, and triumphs of a Wild-West show which was interesting and kept my pages turning. So looking forward to the next book...who will be Brookstone Bride #2?
