'Where should I stay in Sicily?' is a combination of a travel guide, history book, fun anecdotes and insights into Sicilian, living, culture and society. Written by historian Alex Kerr during his recent travels Alex came across a town south of Catania, called Syracuse. Upon investigation, he found a town with a history dating back over 3,000 years and of such importance it once rivalled that of Athens. He was instantly drawn to the town and island and when opportunity knocked, he packed up his things and travelled to a Mediterranean paradise. Whilst living in the city of Syracuse/Siracusa and Ortigia he began to write a diary, of his days and life upon the Mediterranean coast. Inspired by the locals, the ex-pats and tourists he began to take notes on what to see and what to experience culminating in this book.
