Whirlpool

Agathe, a lonely young woman from Paris, is on holiday at Niagara Falls, taking a break from trading sex with her therapist for prescription drugs that she sells to yuppies in Saint-Germain-des-Pres. She is noticed at the Falls by a charming young man who claims his visit there is in homage to his parents, who've recently died. Upon impulsively inviting him to stay with her at her motel, an unguarded romance evolves into a road trip across New York State to the airport in Boston. Uninhibited in its display of raw sexual chemistry, THE WHIRLPOOL is infused with organic moments of slapstick and humor. Its visual style, fueled by mostly improvised acting, compliments a non-linear narrative, arriving at a vibrant throwback to experimental late sixties cinema.
