A Pop-Up Surprise for Miss Spider and Wiggle Fans

"Wiggle's Squiggles" is a lively, colorful and fun adaptation of the Miss Spider television story by the same name. In "Wiggle's Squiggles," the insect kids' teacher, Mr. Mantis, assigns them an art project. He wants them all to do a painting of a daisy. His only instructions are for them to paint what they imagine. Wiggle paints a picture that's very imaginative indeed and he's quite satisfied with it at first. Then, he spots Shimmer's painting, which is a genuinely photo-realistic image of the daisy. Wiggle can't believe it. In fact, he feels ashamed of his painting. It's abstract art, and it's really good, but Wiggle doesn't realize this. He only worries that his painting doesn't look anything like Shimmer's. Wiggle learns that he has a talent for using his imagination to come up with truly imaginative artwork. He also learns that different individuals can look at the same thing and paint something very different. The book ends with a pleasing pop-up surprise, showing every one of the little buggy's wonderful paintings.
