Mary Alice Brannigan doesn't believe in the supernatural. Nor does she expect to find that Dreamland, the decaying amusement park she's been hired to restore, is a prison for the five Untouchables, the most powerful demons in the history of the world. Plus, there's a guy she's falling hard for--and there's something about him that's not quite right. But rocky romances and demented demons aren't the only problems in Dreamland: Mab's also coping with a crooked politician, a supernatural raven, a secret government agency, an inexperienced sorceress, an unsettling inheritance, and some mind-boggling revelations from her past. As her personal demons wreck her newfound relationship and real demons wreck the park, Mab faces down immortal evil and discovers what everybody who's ever been to an amusement park knows: The end of the ride is always the wildest.
I devour all of Jen Crusie's books as fast as I can get hold of them. And when she teams up with Bob Meyer, it's twice the excitement. She writes steamy sexy stuff and he comes up with the most hair-raising capers ever. And the humor laced throughout adds just the right touch. This story is set in an amusement park, very old and nearly abandoned, but the few people still living there want to open again on Halloween night. But, there are demons galore within the park wanting nothing more than to destroy the people and their plans and, once set free, rule the world. (Just like demons, wouldn't you say?) How this works out and the whole amazing adventure makes for a terrific read. If you like action/humor/romance, buy this book. And get Agnes and the Hitman, too. Lots of murders and hot sex. Perfect summer read.
Couldn't put it down

Once I got into the book and figured out the characters, I couldn't put it down. You have to accept the paranormal bits, but the para-normals had personalities and plans, just like the humans. I liked the characters and they evolved due to their experiences. It was a bit different, but good. And how many books do you read these days that keep you up too late reading--not too many.
Great Fun!

I enjoy Jennifer Crusie's books and characters, but have had mixed feelings about her collaborations with Bob Mayer (Don't Look Down didn't impress me; Agnes did). With this joint effort, they've both stepped further out of their comfort zone by doing a paranormal book...and it really works! The elements of their individual storytelling styles are thoroughly enmeshed; the world they create is consistent, colorful, and interesting; and their characters are -- as always -- charming, funny, and easy to be with. It's not quite the expected from either author, but if you aren't stuck on preconceived expectations, this book is a really fun read.
Wonderful paranormal fun

I loved this book. I've read all of Jennifer Crusie's books, and while this is certainly different from her early romances, it's fun and original and crazy amazing. Only Jennifer Crusie could make you care about a raven as a part of the story! The world she creates (along with Mayer) is so creative that I didn't want to stop reading--I didn't want it to end!
Willd Ride

"Wild Ride" is the most fun I've had reading in a long time. Mary Alice Brannigan (Mab) is restoring an old, atmospheric amusement park - Dreamland. Ethan has come home to help at the park, as well. Together, Mab and Ethan will discover what Dreamland is really all about and more about themselves than they'd ever dreamed. I don't want to give away too much (to avoid spoilers, skip the editorial review), so I'll just say this: the book is the funniest "Good vs. Evil" tale you'll come across. Add in high adventure, hot romance, and off-beat characters and the war is on. I really enjoyed visiting Dreamland and I loved "Wild Ride".
