Complete with a dictionary of freezer terms and details on how to thaw and re-freeze foods, Will it Freeze? is the complete A to Z guide to freezing your favorite foods the correct way. In this guide... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Anyone who spends the winter months pining for the farmers' market or wants to make and freeze their own "convenience foods" will benefit from this book. The bulk of the book is an alphabetical list of common foods. Flip easily to the food you're looking for and you'll find brief but concise information on wrapping, freezing, recommended freezer life, thawing, and use of frozen foods. It was written by a british author, I believe, so some of the foods will be found under british names - aubergines rather than eggplants and biscuits rather than cookies, for example. There was also clearly a zombie on the writing staff, since the food list includes both brains and sweetbreads. So far I've only found two notable omissions: beans other than the lima, string, and runner varieties (I was looking for information on freezing prepared dried beans), and prepared oatmeal. Fortunately, information on both of these common foods is available online. The remainder of the book includes a glossary of freezer terms as well as information on freezer loading and management, blanching, and more. A recommended addition to your kitchen library!

Over the years I've looked at several books on freezing and kept checking this one out from the library. I'm delighted to finally own my own copy.
A super resource!

I have an old copy of this book, but just went online to check to see if it's still available. With today's food prices, and my expanding vegetable garden, knowing what freezes, and how to do it, is absolutely essential. "Will It Freeze?" is a super resource!
