2002 Gold Medallion for Elementary Age Children If you appreciate Operation World as an adult, your kids will love this invaluable and age-appropriate prayer resource that develops cultural, political and geographical awareness through a Christian lens. Stunning photographic visuals complement this A to Z collection of countries and people groups, providing an exciting learning experience for children. With short stories about featured countries or people groups, this " Operation World for Kids" helps children in the West learn how they can relate to and pray for foreign lands and people. Each page includes a small map putting the country into perspective with its neighbors, a fact box with essential country and people information and prayer points that children can ask God for as well as thank God for. Families, churches, and schools will all benefit from this book that helps believers of all ages pray more effectively for their world.
Great addition to our history studies. We tie in missionary needs to each country we study. The kids beg me to read these short entries to them. I'm learning about countries and groups I've never heard of.
Eye -Opening!

This book is life-changing. It is my 8 year old daughters favorite part of the school day, but I am learning as much, if not more, than she is from it. I am learning that the world is much larger than my city, my state, the US and even North America! There is a lot going on out there that I have been horribly blind to until now. This book is opening my eyes to the knowledge that EVERY person is a child of God and He loves and cares about each one. This book is causing me to have a new perspective of thankfulness about how fortunate my family is and daily I am reminded to be thankful for our health, our safety, our comfort and material provision, our food, clean water, all things I have taken for granted until now. We are very spoiled in this country and I think this book is an awesome tool for adults and children to foster a new way of thinking!
NOT a new edition!!

Though it says 2007, it's not a revised edition but has exactly the same information as the hardcover version I bought in 2002; no updates on major world events/changes, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. An excellent spiritual resource, as well as useful in teaching geography and cultures.
Our Favorite Book

This book has been on our Homeschool boockcase for the last two years. It is by far one of the favorites in our home. My son (10 years old) can tell us all about the beliefs of a people group without even opening the book. He will also pick a people group and make up his own stories and write them out. We bought this to use along with our prayer journal and devotions for our homeschool but it has been used for so much more. We now have Operation World by the same authors and are looking forward to exploring that next year.
Excellent for inspiring familes to pray and be mission-minded!

The book features a different country on every 2 page spread. The pages are nice and thick and glossy. Great color all over with lots of photographs. Beautiful layout. Each country is briefly desribed with the geography, culture, relative dynamics and, most importantly, how you can pray for that nation. A must-have book in your library. Homeschool curriculum companies that use this book are SONLIGHT and MY FATHER'S WORLD. I highly recommend this book to any christian- children and adults will enjoy it! (PS: the man that reviewed the 'book binding' above clearly received a defective book and should have returned it)
