Those who are complaining that this book doesn't contain enough "meat" should remember that this book is meant only to get a basic grasp of terms and concepts and that other "meatier" books will be required to expand your knowledge. As a NEW NT4 Network Administrator, I appreciate the non-technical jargon and that they don't go too indepth. I learned what I needed to start...now onto those "techie" books!! P.S. My Network is running fantasically!!
Great for networking basics!

I bought the "Windows NT for dummies" book and was incredibly disappointed. It was written for the person who had never seen a computer before, and barely touched on networking! When I saw this one, I almost passed it by because of the other one. I'm glad I didn't! This book is a great start for networking! It takes the time to get a good foundation going, and then it builds on it. The basics of networking are explained clearly and this book doesn't treat you as if you'd had years of experience in networking. At the same time, it doesn't treat you like you've just discovered what electricity is either (like the other book). Great book!

Perhaps the guy above should realize that if he wants to set up a network, he shouldn't base all of his knowledge on a DUMMIES book. It's for BEGINNERS. Go on to a real book after you get a basic understanding from here.
