With their award-winning redevelopment of the former Spiegel buildings in Hamburg and the extension of the nearly Esplanade, Winking - Froh Architekten have demonstrated in exemplary fashion how ensembles of post-war modernism can be preserved in a manner appropriate to their status as historic monuments yet further developed in a contemporary manner.
