I found this book helpful because it encouraged me when I was ready to give up. I could really relate to his sense of humour which helped me to be able to re-evaluate my circumstances in a light-hearted way instead of taking myself and my kids too seriously (or maybe I should say too harshly). I appreciate the comments made by Rachel, but all I can say is, I have a shelf full of books that are the kind she appreciates, but at the end of reading them I was confused and depressed. I realise that not everyone can connect with the entertaining approach, but for someone like me, that was exactly what I needed so that I wouldn't give up striving to be the best I can be as a mother. He corrects without crushing, and when he confronts you, he does it in a way that drives it home softly. It is true to some extent that the author's inclination to humour can be at times a bit inappropriate, but I can make allowance for that. Most people who are interested in help with parenting don't just buy one book, do they? And let's face it, most people who need help with parenting never look for it!!! After all that, I'd sum up by saying: I love this book and would recommend it to anyone.
