As a distant howl echoes through the forest, animals quickly stop what they're doing and run for home. Look out--Wolf's coming As the shadowy figure gets closer and closer and the day draws to a close, the animals shut the door, pull the shades, and turn out the lights. Soon the wolf's glowing eyes appear at the window and the front door opens . . . But things are not as they seem in this suspenseful, clever story, and it's the reader who's in for the biggest surprise of all
This book starts out scary with the big, bad wolf and then turns into something really cute. The simple rhyming on each page made it fun for my daughter to memorize. We originally borrowed this from the library (and read it daily for 2 weeks) and then returned it and the next day I heard her in her room reciting it to her animals so we had to buy our own copy.

Wolf's Coming has simple rhyming couplets with strong graphics and a suspenseful storyline. The book is my son's favorite and he now shouts out the lines on cue. We love this book and will purchase our own copy after the library copy's returned!
A new twist to the big bad wolf tale...

This story is written so the wolf's coming is ominous and foreboding in tone, while the forest animals refrain is snappy as they quickly scamper away. Perfect for readers to adjust the amount of "scary" they want to convey to little ears. Joe Kulka's illustrations are saturated with gorgeous color and his suited beady-eyed wolf and sidekick spider make quite the dastardly duo. Not to fret tho...this wolf isn't going to eat anything but what's coming to him. The final plot twist makes it a favorite "read it again and again" book..

Cute, rhyming, book that is just long enough

This book is a cute rhyming short story of the wolf coming and the other animals hiding. Very cute, suspenful, rhymes, that will keep your audience of 2-9 year olds attentive. The animals are acting scared and hiding, but they are really hiding for wolf's surprise party. I highly recommend this book that will keep your kid's attention and asking them to read it again and again.
