A treasury of advice and a series of success stories combine in a guide for parents that helps readers to overcome the emotional stresses of child-rearing and enjoy the benefits of parenthood. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I wish I had read this 'gift' book before I spent so much money on all the other parenting books that I have bought. These little stories/anecdotes/lessons are very helpful reminders in aiding me to be a mindful, caring parent in this world full of distractions. I have just purchased this for all my mommy friends as a Mother's Day gift. I plan to keep this on my bedside table to read a new chapter everynight to remind me to provide loving, attentive companionship to my daughter. The stories are short and well written - even my husband with his very short attention span finds them wonderful.

Many years ago when my children were in pre-school I bought your book. When the kids were toddlers and I was tired and feeling swamped andcranky, it helped remind me what was important and what was not. Mykids are in 8th, 6th and 4th grade now and life is busy and fun. Ipulled your book off of the shelf to find a quote for a friend and foundmyself re-reading many of the stories. Your book centers me and sort ofre-sets my attitude toward parenting. Your stories are concise andinsightful; I appreciate your sense of family and fun. Just wanted tosay thanks for the times when your book has helped me.

The one parenting book to take to the proverbial desert isle

This is the best book on parenting I've read, and it's the one that's still by my bedside after more than four years' active duty as a mom. It isn't another "here's what you do when they get green peas lodged in their ears" how-to guide. Instead, it's a gentle, guided journey into the heart of the parent-child bond: love, kindness, respect and caring. Thank you, Judy Ford!
I love this book! I love my daughter!

I keep Wonderful Ways to Love a Child in a place where it catches my eye frequently. I read one "chapter" and work to incorporate the advice into my relationship with my 2 year old daughter. Then, I reread that chapter and evaluate the fruits of my efforts which have consistently been a greater bond of love between us. The advise comes in small bites so one can incorporate it into their life easily. When I finished the book, I put my bookmark in the front and started over. You can't get too much of a good thing. "A hundred years from now it will not matter how much I earned, what my job title was, or what type of car I drove, but the world may be different because I touched the life of a child." This single stay-at-home mom who does daycare to survive, highly recommends Judy Ford's book.
