These are poems I culled from the many poems I wrote starting in the 1960's and continuing well into my sixth decade of life. My biggest influence I would have to say was Rod McKUEN who was, for me at least, a respite from the dull and tiresome poems I was forced to read in high school. Once I got comfortable with reading poems written in my own hand, the pleasure of reading poems by others, even some of those obligatory to read in high school became more palatable and even inspiring. I would be pleased if this volume were to inspire a likewise inducement for someone to know the pleasure of creating a poem of their own to be kept and enjoyed over and over.
