The whole Honor Harrington series is some of the best fiction that I have ever read. The understanding and parallel to today's politics and Media is very insightful
A great in fill in the history book.

We have 3 great and 2 average stories in this book, so why the 5 star rating? Because we get a real feel for why treecats were called an intelligent species, and why they didn't end up getting treated like the American Indians and the Aborigines of Australia. The big disapointment? The one Honor Harrington story, and I liked that story as well. The first story, 'The Stray', realy does make this book worthwhile. We get to watch the leaders of 2 species, a human doctor and a treecat memory singer, work together to solve a murder mystery, despite the misgivings of their own peoples. What makes the story so effective is the knowledge of humankind that makes me realize that I wouldn't trust humanity in a similar circumstance; but I also recognize that there are many humans, like the doctor in this story, to make the gamble worthwhile. I really liked the 2 royalty stories as well, because it helps you to better understand the Manticoran Empire, and why Honor's defense of this empire is worthwhile.
Better than "More Than Honor"!

Four Sci-Fi authors take you into the universe of Honor Harrington and the amazing treecats! David Weber wrote two of the stories himself. I found this book much better than "More Than Honor". You will see villages of treecats and find out how intellegent they REALLY are! My favorite story was one Weber wrote of a Princess being adopted by a treecat and how over a dozen treecats came to her rescue from an assasination attempt! I cannot tell you how WONDERFUL this book is. If you are not a David Weber fan, you will be converted into one after reading this book!
the short story "the hard way home" is excellent!

This book has a number of short stories set in the Honor Harrington universe. One of them, by David Weber, is worth buying the book by itself. "The Hard Way Home" grabs you by the first paragraph and it does not dissapoint. If the other short stories are even close in quality this will be a great book.
