The title of this book -Writing and Sharing- shows my life-long concerns with writing and sharing. Neither one comes easy. Some excellent writers will tell you that writing cannot be taught; it must be learned. I believe that. It takes a great deal of effort to learn the basics, but once that is out of the way, writing becomes less daunting. In my case, I taught myself the basics of writing by reading great writers. There hasn't been a single day in my life in which I haven't read something; even when I served in the US Army, I always had paperbacks tucked in my combat pack. As for sharing, well just try to teach children that by sharing you get more. Difficult. But sharing is a task that we must practice daily unless one is a hermit. So, I am sharing my writing with the hope that my readers will find something of value from a lifetime of reading and writing.
