Collecting more than 42 weeks of Jim Toomey's Sherman's Lagoon, this collection transports readers to an imaginary lagoon near the South Pacific island of Kapupu, where a cast of coral reef critters battles the encroachment of civilization. Jim Toomey is "a breath of fresh water." --Washington Post Inhabitants of this nautical neighborhood include Sherman, an always hungry and otherwise typical great white shark and his witty, pearl-wearing wife, Megan, along with friendly Fillmore the turtle, geeky fish Ernest, macho hermit crab Hawthorne, and salty old Captain Quigley, who remains vengeful after losing his leg to Sherman.
For the life of me, I can't figure out why Sherman's Lagoon isn't more popular. Toomey has developed great characters over the years, and he manages to keep them funny. Great stuff!
Awesome!

This book is great, as are all the other Sherman's Lagoon Collections. I can't get enough of my favorite big white shark!

Jim Toomey is one of 3 or 4 cartoonists/authors who are in a completely different class, way ahead of the others. The Twelfth Sherman's Lagoon Collection is great. John Nicholson, Quincy, MA
