It seems like everywhere we turn, we're confronted by shaking heads, thumbs down, brick walls, brush-offs, and closed doors. NOs surround us--in our workplaces, in our communities and places of... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is a fun parable about an all too common challenge - getting people to move from no to yes. I know it is a well constructed parable when I can see myself in the hero as well as in the villians. While villians who say no to new ideas may not steal money, they do steal energy, time, enthusiasm and opportunities. Reading this book made me want to go out and find someone to support, someone to encourage, someone to say "Yes" to. It also made me want to push harder, be more creative and find new ways to get yeses from other people. But it did more than create a desire. It gave me specific insights and actions to help me find those yeses, even if I feel like I am in the middle of the land of no.
A Little Tale with a Big Message

Take a cup of coffee or tea, sit back in an easy chair, and reward yourself with an hour of delight in this book. It may even change the way you look at your life and your work. As with her wonderful "A Peacock in the Land of Penguins," this little book entertains you to think about the importance of staying positive and listening to your own voice when it could be drowned out by so many others that surround it. For anyone starting a business, for example, this tale can help build your courage to do what you want to do and how you want to do it, with so many saying you can't. Thank you, BJ!

As an elementary school teacher this book gave me some clear ways to present the basics for over coming negativity. People need to start at an early age to not be caught up in the negative part of living in this world. Thank you for giving some real simple guidelines.

We get shot down in so many ways that people don't even realize they are doing it. This hurts more than feelings- it hurts results as well. This deceivingly simple book is profound in its message...an important one to all of us about positive approaches to comments and ideas. You'll feel better and do better after you read it!

This is a superbly crafted book with an important message that everyone can relate to - and more importantly, learn from. As I read the story, I found myself continually saying: "I've been there ... I've experienced that ... I've met that fictional character in real life. The fact is, we DO work and live in many Lands of No. And the lessons of this wonderful work will help everyone navigate their way through them - to better results and greater personal satisfaction. Thank you BJ and Steve for addressing a timeless and important topic in such an entertaining, thought-provoking, and action-oriented way.
