If you want to get yourself to actually DO yoga, this one is for you!

Yoga To The Rescue is hands down THE BEST YOGA BOOK ON THE MARKET. And I'm speaking as a yoga therapist who has read every positively reviewed book out there, desperately searching for something I could recommend that would really get people actually do yoga, stick with it AND do it right. Luwis' book is not the least intimidating. Quite the contrary. It makes yoga look fun. How many other yoga books can claim to do that??? It makes you want to plunge in the minute you open it up. It's not just for girls, either, or people new to yoga. It'd be great for just about anyone. Even those already committed to a yoga practice. MORE OF WHAT SETS IT APART FROM ALL THE COMPETITION: 1) The DRAWINGS far more effectively illustrate the poses than any others I've ever encountered. (Photographs often are inadequate to show precise positioning. Especially artful ones. And other drawings I've seen haven't measured up.) 2) The DIRECTIONS, although amazingly concise and simple to follow, still supply you with ALL the information that you need to perform them with confidence, to gain the greatest benefit. 3) It's the first yoga manual that I've ever seen that uses so few words and still succeeds in PROTECTING YOU FROM INJURY. (Amy Luwis' Iyengar background definitely shows.) I've never found a book before that succeeded in all those areas. What's more, I've never encountered a yoga book that was so witty and clever. Women of all ages, really(aside from those who have a physical challenge), offering modified poses for those a little less strong or limber. Teenagers really respond to it. My ten-year-old daughter can't get enough of it, either. (Although many parents would think that the text was a little for mature for someone her age. But it works. And I'm not taking it away from her.) You won't find a better book out there, trust me.
A YOGA BOOK FOR REAL WOMEN

Finally a yoga book that swaps the patchouli for a martini! I've been very reluctant to try yoga because of its heavy spirituality and intimidating "perfect" women, but much to my relief I didn't find gurus or supermodels in this clever little book. Instead, I found something far more pleasing and useful for me--yoga poses addressing my pains and problems, from the occasional hangover to insomnia, and yes, I must admit, the dreaded JIGGLY [...] ! It seems as if this book was written just for me. Last week, to put it mildly, I wanted to push my boss off a short pier (excuse the overused pun), but instead I opted to keep my job and do Pose 12 which cools anger and it worked! A few nights ago, after a spicy, bean-filled Mexican dinner, I found myself reaching for my trustworthy little book and getting into Pose 35 which relieves gas and bloating (the family appreciated this one). Unlike other yoga books, Yoga to the Rescue separates poses into very useful categories, like Restore, Sanity, and Energy. There is even a Ragtime category which is great for those of us who suffer the monthly munchies to the blues. I honestly have to say, I may have never tried yoga, if it wasn't for this uplifting, clever, user-friendly book!!! I highly recommend it to my fellow female yogaphobics; you will silently thank me after a spicy, bean-filled Mexican dinner.

What a wonderful way to learn yoga!Unlike a bound book, this ring format allows you to remove only the page for the pose you are doing, making it so easy to follow. Not only that, this ring-book is both humorous and informative. It makes learning yoga fun!
Yoga to the Rescue: Remedies for real girls.

I was given "Yoga to the Rescue: Remedies for Real Girls" as a birthday present and just adore this book. It is so well done. So real. So fun! With Yoga being a personal passion of mine, this gift couldn't be more loved. Amy Luwis is very talented and illustrates the joy one can derive from yoga while eliminating the mystique that sometimes shrouds it. Well done! Yoga IS for real people. This book will be one of my favorites and shared with my yoga buddies.
