Zan and his brother Dael are older now and have been married. Dael has not completely healed from his time as a slave and is forced to cope with the fact that his wife is dead. Needless to say, Dael is an emotional train wreck and Zan is determined to help. Will Dael give in to his dark, violent urges or will Zan be able to save his brother once again? I enjoyed this book as much as the first one. You can't help but fall in love with Zan because he has so much love inside of him and he wants nothing more than to save his brother. This is a powerful and emotional story that is more mature than the last book.

This book is every bit as good as the first Zan-Gah story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The pace of action was just right. A fun, easy read. Great for an afternoon on the beach, or curled up in front of a fire. I am looking forward to Mr. Shickman's next book.
A fun read, recommended

Mankind has struggled since its very birth. "Zan-Gah and the Beautiful Country" is a prehistoric adventure novel in which Zan and his brother are trying to survive in a cruel and unrelentingly hazardous world. When his brother, Dael is torn apart from his own mind, it just may be the final thing leading to their mutual downfall. "Zan-Gah and the Beautiful Country" is a fun read, recommended.
