I honestly had never heard of Zumba before I read this book. When I flipped through it to see what it was about I noticed there was a Demo DVD in the back of the book. I felt that was as good of a starting place as any to learn what this was about so I popped the DVD into my laptop and watched the demo. The music got me right away. I love a good beat and I love working out to good strong rhythmic music.... this was exactly what I was watching as they demonstrated the basic moves. I liked it. A lot. The book is filled with step by step instructions of the dances with lots of pictures to follow along. I loved reading about the tips about healthy choices and taking care of yourself. I enjoyed the lists of healthy foods and the sample menu's. I took a lot of notes and practiced with the Demo DVD. I will refer to this book frequently in the future. I enjoyed this so much I went on line to find a class near me. I am going to pursue this more and I am actually considering taking the instructor classes they are offering in January in Wisconsin. I seriously am loving this high energy workout!

Zumba works on so many levels..I take classes and wanted to read more about it..FANTASTIC book...ladies in class have lost 5, 10, 25 to 100 doing Zumba classes...doesn't feel like a workout at all and anyone can do it...I recommend reading this book...as Beto says...SPICE up your life...Ditch the workout and join the party..lifts your spirit and the weight loss and toning are just extra benefits you don't even know it's happening..ENJOY!

this book helps me pratice those steps at home. i like the background and history part of the author and the dance also if you like those things.

First off -- I want to comment on the people who gave this book a 1 or 2 stars because it's a "book" -- well DUH! It says it's a book, it shows it's a book -- well, it must be a book! It tells you where Zumba came from and tells and shows you the basic Zumba steps and it gives a diet that should be followed if you want optimum weight loss....it is NOT the Zumba DVD that you work out to. Don't give something low stars because you can't read or didn't bother to go through the info that is given about an item you are purchasing. This book is great for what it is -- a Book about the program as a whole - background, diet and dance :)
